College football — the devy pipeline.

Last updated:

College football matters for dynasty managers as the devy pipeline: the feeder system for the NFL Draft class. Tracking Saturday games is tracking your 2027, 2028 and 2029 rookie picks.

Power conferences

  • SEC — the production pipeline; Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU
  • Big Ten — Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, USC, Oregon (post-expansion)
  • ACC — Clemson, Florida State, Miami, North Carolina
  • Big 12 — Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, BYU, Utah
  • Independents — Notre Dame, Army, Navy
  • Group of 5 — Memphis, Tulane, Boise State, Liberty

Devy tracking — why now

Devy leagues are dynasty's most patient format. You're drafting college sophomores in 2026 for production in 2028. The window to acquire cheap is the early college career, before the NFL Combine confirms talent.

  • 2026 freshmen — 2029 NFL Draft class
  • 2026 sophomores — likely 2028 NFL Draft
  • 2026 juniors — 2027 NFL Draft (declared candidates)
  • → Workout warriors and 40-time gainers move 50% in market value post-Combine

Devy positions in dynasty

The position priority is the same as NFL dynasty: QB > WR > RB > TE. But the college signal is loudest for WR — production with proper opportunity translates ~70% to the NFL. RB college production translates ~45%. QB college production translates ~30% (the gap between college and pro QB play is widest).

Track college TEs specifically for athletic testing rather than production. The highest dynasty TE values come from tight ends who tested as freaks at the Combine, not necessarily the leading college receivers at the position.
